Brenda Ong

Brenda's film journey started off with one of Asia's leading documentary production company, Beach House Pictures, as an assistant producer after her college's internship stint.

 

Brenda started to dabble in assistant directing to collaborate more closely with other department heads. The transition from producing to AD-ing was almost serendipitous – instead of overseeing budgets and clients management, she discovered her flair for actors' blocking, weaving out schedules, and creative problem solving. Having closely worked with various local and overseas crew and companies, Brenda is highly adaptable to spearhead effortlessly any team with diverse skillsets and dynamics to bring any director's vision to life whilst still keeping in mind the production's constraints. 

 

Based in the cosmopolitan city of Singapore for the past 9 years, Brenda is actively seeking for job opportunities / work relocation outside of Singapore from 2024. She believes she needs a change of environment, and would like to expand her portfolio through working on projects outside of homw.

Some notable works Brenda has worked on as a 1AD include the commercial "Cristiano Ronaldo x Kickoff by Zuju" and Singapore local feature film "Wonderland [樂園]"
(winner of Local Jury Award, 
Palm Springs International Film Festival 2024).

 

Besides film as a storytelling medium, Brenda seeks another creative outlet that is food. Under the alias brndmkngthngs, Brenda's culinary adventure is more than just a meal; it is a fusion of cultures, memories, and stories.
